I noticed that a lot of medically related programs (like allied health programs) accept their students by way of a point system in which they grant students a specific number of points for completing pre-reqs and so on. Is that the same with medical school acceptances?
Thanks
Nev

I think it's mostly a nursing schoo/allied health school thing, but I dunno.

:luck:

Thanx for the reply....
Is there anyone else who is willing to enlighten me?

In general how and why people get accepted into med school is a lot more complex than what you mentioned. I may be misunderstanding what you wrote, but in med school admissions, people don't get points for completing prereqs -- they get rejected if they have not completed them.

I know Drexel and Wright State use a points system. But, I don't think it's used in the same way you described it. I got the feeling you received points for certain categories like MCAT score or GPA or extracurriculars or interviews.

I've heard that UCSD uses a point system too. You get so many points for GPA, for extracurrics, etc.
