I'm just wondering what kind of paperwork everyone has received in their acceptance packages from Psychology PhD programs. All I have now is an offer via email but no formal letter, assistantship offer letter, health insurance etc. Just want to know what documents I should request from the school.

Wow, I've never heard of an acceptable by email, only phone! I would contact the school asap and ask to speak w/ your potential advisor. Perhaps they're sending out a letter w/ that info.

I agree, I would follow up on that one. Not to induce paranoia, but I wouldn't be comfortable until you have it in writing. I'm sure if they said it in the e-mail they are going to follow up. But you need that paper. It usually comes with all of the financial info, and it reads like a contract.

Relax (and be happy!) Email acceptances are PERFECTLY normal. The school may take their sweet time getting the contract/insurance information out to you, but rest assured you are in once you email them back accepting the offer. You have done this, correct?

Did the e-mail offer letter outline anything financial? I would definitely try to get something down in black and white via snail mail, it's the only gurantee you have that is binding. I agree though, ask your new advisor, they should check with admin in your dept. to make sure all is well!
