Just curious when you guys interviewed. I interviewed in late January and was waitlisted mid-February. I think we might be waiting longer than most schools for a position to open up, since their class size is so small (I think around 65). Anyway, good luck to you guys and hopefully one of us will hear good news in the coming weeks. peace

Hi, I was also placed in the acceptable pool in March. When I called a couple of weeks ago, I was told that the acceptable pool was not a waitlist by Mrs Davis, do you guyss know if their is a separate waitlist from the acceptable pool?

The only " waitlist " is the acceptance range category. Apparently, the school pulls quite a few people from it to fill the class. Class size is 65 regular admits, plus around 15 or so from their own post bac program.

I was put on the "acceptance range" in March. I called the school and found out NOTHING.

Guess all we can do is wait!

Sorry for just getting back.......Yes, I did send out an update: I did to all of the schools I was / am waitlsited at. I currently work for a biotech company, and had my boss write up a two page " curriculum vitae " , so to speak, on my current projects at work. ( I'm not taking class) So far, it's only " worked " for Meharry. I'm still on the waitlist at another school, and haven't heard back post interview from yet another. I hope this is helpful !

From my experience with Mr. Mosely, I think he is mean and inconsiderate.
I cannot believe that when I when I called to find out when decision letters were to be mailed after my interview, he boldly said that the class was full.

I called in early April and yesterday to find out what was happening and he told me they didnot need any update because the class is full and closed.
I will attend meharry only if it my last choice.

I hope I have the chance to one day call that dean and refuse their admission offer even if I have to apply for three years.

For once put yourself in the shoes of the admissions office. They probably receive many calls per day from applicants wanting to know their status. Meharry (like many other medical schools) obviously has a policy of non-disclosure of status over the phone. Medical schools typically offer all of their seats by April 15th, so the fact that Meharry's class is full should not be a surprise to any of us. A waitlists is just that. You wait for a spot to open, and then it goes to someone else. I would rather be given an honest answer from the admissions staff, than false hope. Find something cool to do with your time instead of calling admissions offices and then whining on this message board. I come on here for information not sob stories that rip on admissions personnel who have a very difficult job.

After speaking to Mr. Mosley, he told me that the class was full and does not expect the wait list to move that much. So I guess this is bad news for us.

Of course the class is full, its probably been full since the middle of April. Now that May 15th has hit, schools know who in their class have multiple acceptances and more pressure will be on these people to only hold onto one. I find it very hard to believe that everyone that has been accepted to Meharry only possess one acceptance at this point. Trickle down acceptances probably won't move for another month or so. To all those in the acceptance range, it may be the bottom of the ninth but we're still in this game. Don't give up hope yet.

did any of you guys get interviewed by this crazy old guy that worked in geriatrics? he didn't really interview me (and the other girl he randomly pulled in to save himself time.. 2 people at once? i'm sure he learned a lot about us). but he was funny. anyway, i'm waitlisted too but i've got a spot elsewhere.. good luck! and don't give up. people get spots up until the day school starts.

Hang tight people. The class is full right now people are giving deposits in, and unless these people withdraw, the school has to assume that they are coming. However, people will drop as they are given options from other schools. They can continue to do so up to the start of Meharry's orientation. Trust me, things will work out for you all in the end.

I interviewed there in November 2000, was accepted December 2000, and withdrew June 2001 when i was accepted off of the waitlist at Tufts. The same game goes on at Tufts med where I am now.

Best of luck to you all.

I have been on this site for nearly two months now, just kinda hiding in the background. I just got an acceptance from Meharry. I received the letter on Friday (6/7). I'm out of town...so I haven't physically seen the letter...but I'm pretty sure my momma wouldn't play such a horrible joke.
I had almost given up and was ready to get a second masters in public health. I felt it was important to finally post to offer what little inspiration I could. Just have faith and your prayers will be answered...because this accomplishment belongs completely to the Lord.

    Hi All,

I just wanted to tell everyone waiting for the famous Meharry Acceptance to keep hope alive. I just received my acceptance letter for the next class. I interviewed in Feb. I have called and updated consistently with Mr. Mosley and I found out on Friday that I was accepted into the class. So just keep your eyes and ears open because they are still pulling from the waitlist.

In case anyone is interested my stats are not overly impressive, but I have good EC and work experience not to mention that I am a little older.
