The schools that have accepted me are beginning to send me their financial aid award letters, and they want me to "accept" them. This is probably an overly cautious question, but does accepting a finaid offer in any way imply my future attendance at a particular school, or is this just a formality, in the sense of finalizing/making definite the offer? Thanks!

I believe you can reject taking the money at any time, even after they award it to you. So, accepting it shouldnt matter

Yeah, I think you can probably accept both aid awards for now. One of the financial aid packages I got had a May 1st deadline for accepting the package, which suggests that they realize that you could still change your mind about attending by May 15th

definitely start accepting the money (assuming you need it)... some schools have finaid deadlines that are earlier than the 5/15 deadline.

Accepting money has nothing to do with accepting your spot...
