Yes.

Depends on the school. Some (like mine) require BLS/ACLS for the EM rotation and will pay for it.

And not all residency programs require it.

our program is requiring ACLS before orientation and we have to pay out of pocket- any suggestions i.e. online vs. in person, books, etc?

Check and make sure it's not offered for free at your hospital.

Otherwise, ask around (or do a Google search, which is what I did) for a nearby class - usually given by EMTs, and attended by residents/nurses.
