anyone have any recommendations about acls software?
I hear "cardiac arrest!" is pretty decent http://www.madsci.com/cadetails.html

has anyone used it? is it broad and complete? is this an effective way of learning acls cold?

I used the Heartcode ACLS program, and would recommend it. Although I've never played with the program you mention, I thought the Heartcode simulations were quite good and you could take it to whatever detail level you wanted. And to be honest, the sims were a lot like the sims on Step 3 where you have to think about the BP cuff and the cardiac monitor.

There were also some other sims on the program that were optional for extra learning.
