Just wanted to see if any other Osteopathic students are going to the ACOFP meeting in Las Vegas later this month. There are a bunch of us from UNECOM going and we are anxious to meet other osteopathic students...we students in the great white north do not get out much! Take care all!

We have a small group going from KCOM. It will be great to get out of Kirksville and to a big city.

Has anyone been to this convention before? If so please share your experiences.

I have only heard good things about the meeting. MSII's in our club have said that there are specific things (meetings etc.) set up for students. Like yourself I am looking forward to some time outside of Biddeford, Maine. I think we have about 12 students going....maybe more.

As you can see my info is limited. Please share any information that you have heard!

Take care. Always willing to hear from more students who are headed to Vegas!

I am also heard really good things about the convention from upperclassmen that have been there. There are meetings that are designed for students but then students can attend just about everything else like the house of delegate meetings etc.

I don't know anything about the show Jubilee but the President's Banquet should be pretty nice.

Where are you guys all staying. We ended up with some rooms at Bally's and some at the Flamingo. Whatever you do, do not stay at Bourbon street, I have heard it is pretty bad.

Dear Carrie,

The majority of us are staying at the Holiday Inn...the club is picking up the tab for our rooms so we decided to save them some cash. I have been to Vegas before and Bailys is pretty nice...you will be nearby to a lot of the larger casinos.

Take care!

Matt

That is nice of you guys to save your club some money. It is a decent idea. One thing you can try is to call Hilton's 800 number and try to make a reaservation at the Flamingo. I got a room from them for $79/night when the hotel will only give you $110/night or more.
