Activities to improve manual dexterity?

Hi guys! Recently I had the opportunity to practice some of the lab work that I will be doing as a first year, and it made me realize that my manual dexterity skills could use some honing. I was wondering if anybody had hobbies/rituals that helped them with this. I'm going to start carving soap soon, but I'm curious if there are any other little practices I could take up that would help me be a better student in the future.
