Actual Life while in Med School.... with all of these loans!

I am currently applying to medical schools, and for some filling out the FAFSA, school FAA, etc.

Can anyone who is in school or has some knowledge about it tell me a little about real life in med school... I know broad but here is the focus. I mean things like do you eat bread and peanut butter every meal or can you occasionally go out with friends???

Has anyone every bought a house while in med school if their spouse is working?

To some this probably sounds silly, but I just don't know that much about all of this yet.

you will eat normal food, so long as you have time to go to the supermarket.

you can go out with friends, so long as you've made time to study.

you can buy a house, if between your spouse's income and your loan allowance, you have enough $$.

I eat normally all the time. I eat home cooked meals if there will also be someone eating with me and if it's just me grab some fast food or fix something small. And I eat out once or twice a week usually at a restaurant. And there are plenty of people who go out more than that and those who go to bars and spend a bunch of money on alcohol. And there are plenty of people who shop for clothes. It's not like you are poor, unless you have a family to feed and clothe or you just don't want to borrow much money. Very livable.

Thank you! I guess I was freaking out cause of all of the potential loans. It isn't that I eat out much or anything and I don't have anyone but my husband and I. I sometimes like to go out to eat or go to the bar with friends (of course after the studying!!!). If I get in to my first choice then I will be close and yet not too close if you know what I mean to my parents which would mean good stuff every so often from them too. 😉
