I had a candidate who was a middle aged mom. She had her ~13 year old son write a LOR for her. Her logic was because she was a good mom, she'd be a good doctor. You can imagine how well that went over.

I had a letter from a specialty surgeon who wrote in support of an applicant who had shadowed him... That would be find but the applicant was dating his daughter and he wrote that he hoped that this applicant would some day be his son-in-law. 🙄
