If you were to write a letter or thank you note to the committee itself, what would you put as the greeting? Dear Committee? To Whom it May Concern? It seems like it's either too personal or too impersonal. What would you use?

"Dear Gods and Goddesses:

I, the unworthy stain of transient existence, hereby bid you a fine morning........."

would in my opinion be a quite suitable way to start a letter.

"Dear Dad and Uncle John:..."

(just kidding, I don't have any family who are doctors let alone on adcoms ;) )

Ronin and the boy wonder--thanks both for the laugh.

Ok, ok, but seriously. Like when you send a letter of intent to the committee, what do you put for the greeting?

I believe "Dear Admissions Committee of X School of Medicine"

would be appropriate

Incase you're wondering, I'm serious this time. I'm not sure what else you would put other than generic openings.

Alrighty, thanks for your input. Yeah, I just had trouble deciding which to use - just another of those anal threads I guess. Appreciate the feedback though.
