I remember seeing that someone who interviewed at NYMC in late January was accepted about two weeks ago. Does that mean that I should be hearing something soon if I interviewed on Feb. 14? Has anyone been accepted recently? What date did you interview? Thanks a lot!

I interviewed on January 24 and my acceptance was postmarked April 5. Good luck.

LBJeffries,

I interviewed late January (the 31st), and the acceptance envelope was postmarked on April 4th. so you should probably hear soon--good luck. 🙂

I interviewed Feb 4 and still no word.

Am I the only one who is waitlisted at NYMC? Congratulations to all the acceptees, I am truly happy for you. I would love to attend the school, but since I don't see any other wait-listers, I am feeling really depressed.....

Hey Trying,

I'm also waitlisted. I think there're a bunch of us here who had interviews way back and have been placed on their waitlist. So, you're not alone!!! We are all anxiously waiting to find out what the "4/16 letters" are all about. If you haven't done so, check your status and see if a final letter has been sent out. I called the admissions office today and extracted no helpful information out of this woman who answered the phone. She was quite rude as a matter of fact. Good luck!

I have been on the WL since March and also saw the "Decision Letter Sent" on 4-16-02 on my status page. What the hell does it mean?

So the office was useless Patiently Waiting? That's discouraging.... I can't stand the suspense!! Please let me know if you guys hear anything.

Hi again,

For those in the fog like myself, check out this thread: "NYM to the C Acceptees." Most people who were accepted still had "decision pending committee review" on their status page when accepted.

arghh...food for thought.

Hi, here's the link:

Thanks Otter for posting the link. I am now among many who will be getting the decision letter.

I AM NERVOUS!!!!!!! I can't imagine the school sending lots of letters accepting the students at this point (I would think they'd wait till May 15th when people start withdrawing), plus don't waitlisters usually get a phone call, not a letter (let alone a mass mail) from the school?
🙁 🙁 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Ditto on the change of status page. Are they already re-evaluating the wait list and possibly cutting back the waitlist? OUCH!

I was told today by the admissions office that the wait list won't start moving until June.

How does that explain how some of us got the "decision letter sent" message very recently after being placed on their waitlist?? WEEEIRD.

yeah, what does this all mean. We won't hear until June? geez, don't they start classes in July?

well, please let me know if those of you who have the 4-16 message receive anything from NYMC.
thanks

does anyone know when classes start for NYMC?

We had to be on campus by around the first of august for orientation.

med student,

I sent u a PM!~

oooh, the suspense, i just looked and have that decision letter-thingy as well. what does it all mean? given their past record this year of sending out false interview invites and what-not, i imagine that it doesn't mean much . . .

i was put on the waitlist a while back too, for all who are interested.

my theory is...

they didn't update our status pages when they sent out WL notifications. So, on 4-16, they decided to send out a mass update on everyone's status page saying a "decision letter has been sent," whether it was wait, accept, etc. Therefore, I wouldn't expect to see anything in the mail, since they might be referring to the letter we previously recd in the mail re: our WL status. Plus, if they did send something on 4-16 or even 4-17, we all should have recd something by now.

just my thoughts... 🙂

applehead96:

Your theory does make sense. I noticed that someone who was accepted also has "decision letter sent" notice. This fact led to me believe/hope that the letter has been sent to notify all who are accepted/or will be offered a seat. However, since most who have been placed on the wait-list on this board have their status changed to indicate that the letter was sent, I think it is highly unlikely that we are all being accepted. Another possibility which I posted above was that we were all being dropped from the waitlist. But then why would NYMC decide to pull so many off the waitlist and not wait till May? Unless we all are not worthy applicants, which I highly doubt, this letter must therefore refer to the notification we received. They are possibly updating the status now (about month late for me) and this could explain why people who are accepted as well as waitlisted have this status change.

I just think that it will be a long painful wait if waitlist will move in June. I will have to start applying for loan for Finch, and the classes start mid July there. So, if I was to plan renting an apartment, get a room mate, and apply for a loan, how can I back out in June when most of those things will be in place?

What do you all think?
