admissions committees contact employers?

does anybody know if adcoms contact employers that we have listed as extracurriculars on amcas or if they are more prone to contact the people who wrote letters of recommendation for us?

And furthermore.... whether this would be done pre or post interview? Thanks.

If you listed someone on an application, it is fair game. If you had someone write a letter, it is fair game. It can be before or after interview. As far as I can tell it is very rare and usually when there is a serious question raised as to the veracity of the reported activity.
