Thanks, Dr. D. I know Dr. Mom tends to be less than fair in what she deems inappropriate, and has overstepped her boundaries at times. But it really isn't an easy job she's got when so much of SDN is wavering right on the border between PG-13 and R.

I guess I'm just a little too much of a prude sometimes, but thanks for taking it off - whoever you are.

Especially when lewd threads are left and right in other forums. Dr. Mom herself actually contributed to the "Mastication is Healthy!" thread. I mean, come on, are we really talking about mastication?! Read the thread and you'll see that we aren't.

Rather than emailing you personally I have decided to openly respond to your email on the forum to address the student members, Dr. Mom and yourself.

First of all I would like to apologize again to any of the SDN member who were insulted by any of my posts in this thread. It was not my intension to insult you, rather I was acting impulsively to some built-up feelings toward Dr. Mom.

Dear Dr. Mom. I am sorry for responding so abruptly to you last post although I do have some issues that I will address in a less offensive way.

I believe that myself and many other SDN members totally agree with Supernumerary's comments. When Dr. Mom shut down Yah-E's thread (DMD/DO Dual Degree at Nova) http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?threadid=71037 I couldn't believe it. That was way out of line. It was an appropriate and interesting topic. As ItsGavinC pointed out in response to her actions "I suppose I'll have to browse EVERY forum now to find topics of interest which pertain to dentistry. Ridiculous." I couldn't agree more! I could be wrong but I feel as though Dr. Mom "gets off" on her control as a forum moderator. I have never seen her post any meaningful information on the Dental or Predental forums yet she is always over on our boards moderating our sites.

Dr. Scherf, you said "You think she's tough? You've just met me." To be honest Dr. Scherf, I wish you were tough.....then we probably wouldn't be having this discussion. I was under the impression that you were the moderator of the Dental and Predental forums yet it seems that Dr. Mom is the only one moderating them. Sure, DATMATT's thread (ADULT cartoon) did not pertain to nor was it appropriate for the Predental forum but I would rather see you (our moderator) take action rather than Dr. Mom. I would not expect a president of another country to rule the US, nor a political leader from a particular state try to pass legislation in another state, and finally I wouldn't expect a moderator from another forum to be moderating the dental forums especially when she is so trigger happy to shut threads down. Dr. Scherf, I would have had no problem if you would have removed the last link from DATMATT's thread. In the past I believe you have been quite fair with your moderating. I would just like to see Dr. Mom back off and let you (our moderator) do your job and once again control our dental forums.

Once again, I'm sorry to all that I have offended.

First of all, I want to know who (a dental student) wrote to Dr. Scherf and complained about Dr. Daddy's language?

Come on people, couldn't we have dealt with this issue amongst ourselves before contacting moderators? It's not that difficult to PM or email Dr. Daddy politely and forewarn him of his actions! Let's be adults about all this. 😡

Dr. Daddy's original posts never offended me, no apology needed for me!

As for Dr. Mom and I, we had already shared our views about how and why she believes it's appropriate to shut down threads. Since her actions are new to all of us and we now know that she exists, I think that we can all expect to see more of her in the days to come.

Matt, see what you had started? I enjoyed your cartoon, by the way, especially the woman character that was involved!
