Hi everyone,

As we know Heart Failure and Transplant fellowship is going for match this year. I just submitted my application, lets use this thread to connect people who are applying to it. Please share our interview invites and also I saw that some of the big programs like Mayo clinic, Univ of Michigan are not taking part in the ERAS. Does anyone know if they took already decided there candidate or do we need to apply to them separately? Does any one know any other programs who have matched with there internal candidates?

Hey, also applied earlier this week and have the same questions.

It probably makes sense that they already took internal candidates but can’t be sure. I would email those programs directly to find out if you’re interested.

I got an interview at Emory so far. Anyone else got any invites yet?
 
Congratulations on the invite. I just applied yesterday as LOR took for ever to be released by ERAS. When did you get the interview from Emory? Wondering if I am already too late in sending application.

I got it on Thursday. I think you’re probably ok. I emailed some programs because I applied with documents still pending for upload and most told me it was ok because they would be reviewing applications over the next several weeks.

I was curious about internal candidates as well. Mayo Jacksonville is "not participating" and neither is UF, but I believe Florida took their candidate already. I'd be curious if anyone has any insight.

I got one from yale too.
 
Hope the match works out better. Heard from an applicant last year that it was a big mess with lots of programs offering pre-offers and verbal agreements before the allowable date.

I guess we’ll get more information after interviews, but just wanted to know impressions in general and more specifically: culture of the program, strengths/weaknesses, research vs clinically oriented, etc.

I’ve already cancelled a couple for the same reason but not sure what’s a safe number of interviews to secure a spot.

In the same boat as the rest of you. Going into this process i was thinking of attending 10 interviews. Outside of that logistically it would be impossibe to find coverage to attend other interview dates.

Also, Duke/MGH rejections on back to back days, glad they are finally getting back to us.
 
I definitely didnt want to go on more than 8 or 10. But even that seems like a lot. I'm having a hard time getting coverage past 5. I'm still waiting to hear back from several programs
