Hi everyone,

I just got my UCLA interview invite call today!! I am relieved after waiting so long. Anyway, can you guys offer any advice for the interview? Is it stressful? Open or blind? What about the essay?

I am also going to Columbia soon. Please let me know your experiences.

I asked about Loma Linda earlier. Doesn't look like many people interview there. But Star Babe, let me know how your interview went today!

Thanks,

I think there are some previous posts regarding interviews in UCLA. You might want to check those out by doing "search"

Basically, during the interview, you will first have to write an essay which everyone has the same topic for that day. You will have a tour of the school, a short orientation where they force your to sign for a statement that you will HAVE to buy their equipments and laptops if you decide to go there. 😳

You will have a student interview during lunch time (you have to pay for your own lunch by the way). My student interviewer didn't really ask me anything. I am the one doing most of the questionings 🙂

You will also have a 2 on 1 faculty interview (2 faculty members). You just have to wait till your name is called. Interview can be stressful, but mostly they just ask regular interview questions...They looked at my app. pretty carefully and they asked a lot of questions from there. They asked me about my dental experiences and my opinion on the future of dentistry. They gave some opinion about my essay and asked me more on it... One question I didn't prepare for was "what qualities can you bring to our school".

Then Kristy Fong will meet with you before you leave.

hope this helps.

PM me if you want more specific info.
