Advice for my friend

Hello All,

My friend would like advice, and he insisted I post his stats here.

University: Private school
Major: Biochem
GPA: Fall 2015 (3.00)
Spring 2016: 6W's he left to Pakistan.
Fall 2016: (2.123)

His pre-reqs are
D: Survey of Biology (3 credits)
D: Calc 1 (3 credits)
C: Bio 1 (3 credits)
B-: Bio 1 lab (1 credit)

1 year of research, and has a publication.
0 clinical volunteering
50 non-clinical volunteering at house of worship.

He is currently taking Chem 1, and Bio 2.

He needs to get serious on his classes if he wants to get into medical school. If the school is too hard, then consideration for transfer to a school that is easier (but not a CC) might be necessary.

If he basically only has one year's worth of classes, he does have time to recover, but no more mistakes.

That's what I keep telling him. He wanted to hear what you guys have to say since he knows I am a frequent poster on this website.

So he has something like a 2.5-2.6 accum with 1 year of classes? Tell him to start getting a 3.7+ and he would have a shot with a good MCAT
