How do you guys fill out the non-editable secondaries? I tried converting it using Acrobat but then my computer doesn't have the specific font and the formatting comes out looking weird...What do you guys do?!

DO you have reader or standard? There is a tool that allows you to insert text in the document, similar to how you would in PhotoShop or Paint.

Adobe reader professional. Should be available in your schools computer lab.

I have adobe reader and adobe acrobat 7.0...can i use any of these programs? if so, how do i use them?

I think it's called the "touchup text" tool - you click on the line and if they made the pdf right you should be able to type text in where you click.

I was so frustrated, that I finally just did it the old fashioned way - scissors, a glue stick, and a xerox machine. Came out looking great, and I saved a bunch of time.

With Acrobat Professional, you can create text fields. I don't have the program at me, I use it at work, so I can't recall exactly which menu the tool is under. I will post it tomorrow from work.

The secret of using this tool is that you should specify a font size in each text box you create to keep all the fonts the same. Otherwise, if the "Auto" option is selected, then it will select the font size based on the size of the text box, and it gets annoying.

I have completed 3 silly non-fillable pdf forms this way. It can take a little bit to get the hang of the tool, but is pretty easy once you have it.

I posted elsewhere that, alternatively, you can open the non-fillable pdf in Photoshop and use the text tool to insert text on any line (and paste a passport size photo!). You can also move the text around to readjust the positioning of the field with the arrow. But if you're not too familiar with photoshop, the learning curve might prove frustrating than following the other advice on this thread. It comes out really nice looking though!

Must be 'cause you have already tried the edible ones, haven't you? 😉

Uhh, what's wrong with printing it out and doing it by hand?

How's it going to look if you write it out by hand (especially if your handwriting is so-so) when everyone else has taken the time to type it up?

If you have Acrobat, there is a form creator tool where you draw a text box. After you do that, you can specify whether the box will have text, a check box, etc.

Then you click on the hand and it will make the form look as if nothing was done to it. Only difference is that you can type in the different lines.

Hope this helps.
