Wow. Ok well i typed this entire thing out all nice and detailed and accidently pressed back on my mouse, so this will be a very compact version.

-In 4th year Bachelor Health Sciences Honours University of Calgary and will graduate with a GPA of ~3.6 or so.
-Am an NZ citizen and want to go to med school in Australia as a local student.
-Dicked around in undergrad and am confident i could do much better in GAMSAT than an average 3.6 GPA. How important is GPA in assigning interviews?
-What is the quality of the local applicants in Aus? I know i could easily qualify as an international student, but i don't know how tough it is to get in as a local student.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum (being non-USA and all), but couldn't see any other logical/active places to post.

Looking for any advice at all that would be applicable in my situation.
