I've seen the posts about the 5 yr. MPH/MBA programs and I think I've decided for me that I want to wait until after graduation (maybe even after residency) to pursue another degree. This opens a lot of doors as to which degrees would be accessible/useful. So I'm wondering, for those who have any experience/interest in pursuing healthcare administration after a healthy stint in clinical medicine, which path do you take and why?

Seems like MBA is the common choice due to the connections, management and leadership that you learn, but I'd also like to hear from anyone about MPH and MHA. However, my interests are more specifically healthcare delivery, healthcare economics and healthcare policy. And it seemed like admin was a good way to leverage my outside interests into a career.

Simple question is, do you want to work to make an organization (MBA) or do you want to work for the government (MPH)?

You can do either with an interest in delivery, but economics and policy is more MPH related from what I know (MBA student).

Well that was a simple answer, but made a good point I hadn't considered. Thanks for sharing.
