Hi! I'm not sure if anyone has asked about this yet, but I'm starting at Penn in the fall and I'm looking for some information on good locations for apartments. I'm assuming that I should be looking for buildings as close to the dental school as possible, so here are a few companies I got from the off-campus housing office:
A.H. Kline
Campus Apartments
University City Housing
What are the other good rental companies out there? Also, what buildings are in the safest areas? On my undergrad campus, it was relatively safe to live a mile or more away and walk alone late at night, so I'm not really sure where the "boundary" of safety is on Penn's campus. I've also never lived in a large city...so living there as a woman by myself will be an adjustment.
Also, I found this website with feedback on landlords:
http://dolphin.upenn.edu/~consumer/
A lot of the tenants seem to have issues with rodents, roaches, and other insects (a lot of the landlords got a grade of C).
Are there any buildings without rodent/roach problems that are in a safe area with reasonable rent and reliable landlords...? ( I know...I'm looking for the ideal place to live 🙂 ). I'm looking for a studio or efficiency right now, I guess.
If you have any information you could give me on some good locations or quality buildings...or just any advice in general, I'd love it! Thanks so much!
