Do you guys think that a 3.3-3.4 GPA and an MCAT of 32Q would be good enough to get in to UCLA? I'm thinking whether I should retake the MCAT this summer, but doing so would make me late in my applications...thank you very much.

GPA is too low....first and foremost...

MCAT is decent for Cali.....

you woulld need around a 35-36 with that GPA.

Lastly, apply early.....first of June.

Honestly, Ucla will be tough with that gpa no matter how high your mcat is, their averages are 3.8/35.

Can you spend another year improving your cGPA before applying? The good MCAT score is not going to fully compensate for the lowish cGPA, like a 34+ would for schools outside California. Getting into a California school would be iffy unless you have moderating factors in your application we're not aware of, or amazing wow-level ECs.

I thought it was around a 33/34.....
I obviously don't have a current MSAR because I am in med school, but I know their mean/median was in that range when I applied and I can't imagine it's gone down while applications have increased 20%. Anyways, the OP isn't close to competitive regardless of their MCAT.

My guess would be if you could bring ur GPA up to a 3.5 and MCAT of 34 you would have a chance (assuming good ECs and amazing LORs)

A lot more info is needed really to make that sort of comment. I know a number of ppl (myself included) that went thru 1 or more app cycles and unless you're a URM or have really unique circumstances, 3.5/34 won't even get you a sniff. My cousin is a LA alum who graduated with 3.95+/33+ and didn't even get an interview. I got into LA with a bit lower gpa but mcat around 40 with very unique ecs, I know a lot of people who are 3.8/34-35 types who don't even get interviews. LA is pretty research oriented, so that helps.
