I have the opportunity to take part in a research program this semester. It's going to be ~15/week. My course load isn't hard, just 16 credits (or 16 hours of classes per week) along with some volunteering and other stuff on the side. I'm taking Bio II, Chem II, Calc II, some Psych class, and an experimentation class. If my grades aren't good, should I just put in 200% this semester and do the research? I don't want to pass up this chance.

15 hours of research a week sounds like a lot, but do-able. What type of research will you be doing? Is it in a field you will enjoy? If so, then do the research. Your course load sounds pretty easy so you shouldn't get too stressed out with research & volunteering & school. Good luck :luck:

I've been doing 15-20 hours of research per week for a while now and it hasn't interfered with my grades at all. In fact, it helped me learned to managed my time better. It's given me a couple of publications and people to write me letters. It's been worth it.
