If you are interested in advocacy - highly recommend the ASCO advocacy day. Typically in September - very well run. Have not participated in ASTRO's so can't compare/contrast them

You've posted in the past regarding advocacy and joining ACR. Please tell the reader how radiation oncologists can become involved with ACR/Committees?

ACR--
Commission on Radiation Oncology
Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation Program (they treat and pay surveyors better than ASTRO's Apex)
Council of Affiliated Regional Radiation Oncology Societies (CARROS)
Radiation Oncology Practice Parameters committees (RO, Communication, brachy, 3D conformal, IMRT, IGRT, ...etc)
Your state radiological society--the current president of Texas Radiological Society is Andrew Farach, a radiation oncologist
Nancy Ellerbrok and Harvey Wolkov are past presidents of California Radiological Society

Ok that is a good starting point. I guess my question was more in HOW one goes about actually getting involved. If one goes to the acr website, where is the link to say "hey im interested in getting involved (in any of the things you list up there)". do you just cold email someone? do you have to know someone? IMO there's a lot of information asymmetry on how people can actually get involved vs. complete lack of interest. Like I told you in a different thread, many people had no idea what the ACR even did. You awesomely explained that to many of us, so I thank you for that.
