OK this thread might be a dud, since most of us seem to be students or aspiring OT students, but is anyone familiar with working as a PRN OT, or working with an agency on temporary/contract placements? Is it feasible to get regular work and make a decent living doing this, as opposed to working in one full-time stable position? Is it possible to start out with temporary/contract work as a new grad?
I'm interested in going into pediatrics, and I think it would be beneficial to get experience working in a variety of peds settings via temp placements/contract work. But I'm wondering if that's a feasible plan, particularly for a new grad and in peds settings.
