I got into both of their 6-year PharmD programs, but I can't decide which one to go to. I live in Brooklyn, NY, which is about a 2 hr commute to St. John's by train. With dorming, the two cost roughly the same, but St. John's is offering me more money (but less loans to cover the rest). I haven't really heard anything to gauge the two against one another. What should I do?

Go visit both schools. Your gut feelings will count for a lot once you've seen both places.

My advice for you is to go to St Johns. http://www.acp.edu/academics_pharmdcourses.php This is Albany's coursework and I can already identify one con. Albany requires you to take two semesters of physics while St. Johns does not. I hate physics.

This is Albany's note: At least 9 credit hours of electives must be liberal arts (a total of 30 credit hours in the liberal arts are required by NYS).
First-year students must demonstrate computer competence.
Third-year students must demonstrate writing competence.
Fourth-year students are required to pass a pharmaceutical calculations competency before progressing into the fifth year.
Students must have current first aid certification by start of Professional Experience Program (PEP).

Writing competence????????? 🙄 St Johns do not require you to do any of the above except stay within the credits as a full time student and keep a minimum of a 2.3 gpa.

THAT BEING SAID, I HATED ST JOHNS'S REQUIRED THEOLOGY COURSES AND PHILOSOPHY CLASSES #@$@#^$#@&$%#@!.

Oh yeah, you'll be missing city food and life once you get to Albany. I guarantee you that.

Well, the Writing and Computer requirements don't seem that absurd to me because they're useful skills, especially the writing if you plan to go into pharmaceutical research, at which point you'd have to publish. Being a Catholic college, I guess Theology and Philosophy are sort of St. John's way to make you well-rounded. Personally, I'd rather have my choice of Liberal Arts electives. I don't mind physics or any of the physical sicences for that matter. But these issues and money aside, my main concerns are:
1) Which college prepares me better for a career in pharmacy and
2) For which is it easier to get a job afterwards?

Job in pharmacy? I think you can get a job anywhere.

Career in pharmacy? I think both programs prepares you well for a career in pharmacy.

Does anyone on this forum go to Albany? I known there are a couple that go to St. John's but I'd like to hear some personal testamonies about Albany.
