Hi,
I just wanted to ask those who applied and got accepted to Albany med; when did you have your interview and how soon did you found out about your acceptance? I have an interview soon, and I am really anxious to know how soon they let applicants know about their status. I really want to go to Albany, but I am very concerned with the cost (tuition is way high!).
Any comments/opinions are highly appreciated.
Thanks!

they told me they meet the tuesday after your interview (i.e. the next week) and then let accepted students know by that friday... (i think that is the best case scenario).... For me I met rigth before xmas so it took three weeks instead of two... but they will tell you in your interview/information session pretty explicilty about their process... good luck...

I interviewd on a thursday. They met the following tuesday. I received the good news via email on wednesday. The quickest turnaround I've ever seen!
Good luck.

Thanx, highclimber and homeostatician! Did you guys decided yet where you are going or are you still going for interviews?

Albany is my only acceptance so far. The tuition is very high, but to be honest, I think I'd be happy going there. Albany isn't that small of a town, there are things to do. The students I stayed with seemed very happy to be there. The administration is very helpful and friendly. I was also told that the faculty is very interested in teaching the students, so if you ever want to shadow someone, they're more than happy to let you. Albany Medical Center services much of upstate NY and western Mass. which means you'll get exposure to all kinds of patients. Overall, I left with a good impression of the school.
I'm still holding out for SUNY Downstate and of course my state school UW. Although I'd pick either over Albany, I wouldn't complain if I ended up there.

I am still waiting on a couple schools... but when it comes down to it, i would have to revisit when the students are around... (since it was before xmas, i only met the kids we lunched with)... I want to get a better feel for the atmosphere...
