Ok...so I have an interview at Albert Einstein next Wed. Bu ttheir website is lame and gives no indication of where interviewees could possibly stay.

Did I miss something on the website?

Where do most interviewees stay?

Einstein has housing at the school. I lived in that area for several years & there is really no where else to stay right around there except for in the housing. The closest hotel that I know of is in New Rochelle (about 10 min away). Try & stay with a med student if you get the opportunity though.

Good luck in that interview!

Their website is rather unhelpful. I interviewed in Nov but stayed with relatives in Queens. Sorry couldn't be more helpful. I enjoyed my interview there and the students seemed to love going to school in NYC. If I don't get into a UC I'm most likely headed there. When did you graduate from UCLA? Good luck!!

I remember that in the email invite they mentioned something about staying with a student if you'd like to. Double check your invite and see.

If there's no mention, then just call the admissions office and ask if you can be hosted by a student. I only gave a couple weeks notice but they still found someone to host me (albeit an Md/PhD) 🙂

I interviewed at Einstein and stayed with a student while there. You have to email or call them and they give you a person to contact. Here's the contact info: [email protected] or 718-430-2106.

Good luck!

finished last march and walked in June.

Screw it I'm staying at the comfort inn in queens. I'm not a fan of student hosts especially after a full day of flying. When I hit my hotel I just want to crash for a bit. I don't like being at the mercy of my student host. I don't think they are all that helpful. I mean they all seem to say the same thing. This school is great. i like it because yadda yadda yadda. Just be yourself during the interview. Our class is very close knit. We go to bars, clubs, especially after a big test. One person has an idea theres automatically 20 people willing to go too.....I guess they are helpful about the unique things about the school such as the curriculum but even then they all say everything about the school is great for the most part. Certainly they are also great if one is strapped for cash and can't pay for a motel.

Whats the best way to get from queens to the bronx? Is there a subway...any links to find schedules and prices online? Sorry if these seem to be stupid questions but I'm from cali and have never been to NY.

Wow...I write too much when I post here. 😀

i'm also from cali and had never been to ny. this being the case, i actually stayed in manhattan for the night and took the subway to the bronx the next day. sure i was only there for one night but that was enought time to spend wandering around times square and check out radio city (it was near christmas) and even see a broadway play---only $30 for last minute ticket and i was front row (unbelievable). of course for this particular play, the front row audience gets splashed...small price to pay. so it may not be for you if you just want to get in and out of there, but if you think this might be your one chance to see manhattan i say take advantage.
