Hi guys

I reallly need help deciding between these two medical schools. I know that I am supposed to make up my own mind, but you guys just give the best darn advice, so I am asking for your help right now when I am making one of the biggest decision of my life. In considering residency placements, location, overall happiness, and any other factors, which one of these schools would be better? I am OOS for both of these schools, so would not get the tuition cut at MCW.

Right now I am leaning more towards AECOM, because I am going to school in the northeast, but I am a little hesitant about being in the Bronx since I have been told by many that it is a sketchy area. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Einstein, because it is in NYC and you'll get a more diverse patient pop. during your rotations.

Overall, Milwaukee seems less exciting than NYC and Einstein in all categories except for safety.

Go to medical college of wisconsin. my buddies went there and enjoyed the atmosphere. hope that you decide to go to wisconsin.

I don't live in the Bronx but if you are worried about safety, from everything I hear, the area around the school is fine. There is actually a whole section on safety on: www.aecommunity.com. This is their student-run website and it is just all around awesome as far as info about the area and the school. Check it out and see what you think. Good luck deciding.

Nothing can compare to NYC. Einstein isn't in a sketchy area, theres plenty of other places around the city that are far worse. You can't beat the clinical exposure in NYC so my vote is for einstein, Maybe I'll see ya there!

So zero, have you made a decision or are you still weighing your options?

I would go to Albert Einstein only because it is in the city...if i had a choice I would to NYC. And also if you withdraw from MCW...youll be opening up a seat that could be for me (im on the waitlist)

But to be serious with you...i think the best thing to do is to see what your gut instinct tells u to do.

i'd go to MCW - the students seemed much happier. Plus, during my interview at AECOM, it seemed as if each student was constantly comparing their school to other schools. It was as if everyone had some sort of inferiority complex.

The reason why the Bronx is safer than say, Oakland, is because it's so damn depressing in the Bronx that no one has the will power to mug you. Do you really want to spend 4 years in a run down, neighborhood with fire burned brick buildings that have no tenants and smashed windows?

I would pick MCW. During my interview there, everyone seemed really happy to be there and the opportunities there are great since it's the best set of hospitals in the area so you get to see everything. Sure it's not the most exciting place, but there are a lot of things to do within 30-45 minutes (Chicago, Green Bay Packers, downtown Milwaukee) so you're not stuck either. And rent is CHEAP but maybe I just think that 'cause I've lived in socal all my life! It just seemed like a really great school with a student body and faculty that were really happy to be a part of it. That's where I was going until I got my letter from Pritzker. Hope this helps!
