The ADA just announced that they finally agreed to releasing a single dental degree - DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery). Which they should have done from the beginning as it just causes confusion having 2 difference degrees for the same thing. However, the ADA noted that the Ivy's (Columbia is switching to DMD) will provide the DMD degree upon graduation. So is it safe to say that DMD > DDS after July 1st when the changes will take place? What's your take?

The Ivy schools absolutely do NOT give you a better education just because they are the Ivy schools. It's more a matter of tradition for them to give the DMD than it is about quality of education. Do not let that fool you.
