Interesting read. I wonder if this unification will lead to Allopathic and Osteopathic medical schools soon granting the same degree.

This has nothing to do with medical school. The only thing affected will be postgraduate residency and fellowship programs. The accreditation standards and bodies for medical schools are not changing.
 
Not yet, they're not. But, this is definitely a step closer towards that direction than further away from it.
