i really need some advice here guys... i already got into my state school, but I pulled a D in one of my classes first semeter. The contract i signed said, "this aceptance can be taken away if...1)... 2)... 3) a grade of C or below in any current future coursework 4)..... 5).....

I dont know what to do. Here are my stats, which i guess dont really matter, 33 mcat and 3.56.

the only thing I have is that I was sick during the final (on a thursday), i was on antibiotics that didnt work, which eventually led to sunday 6am, visit to the ER. I have a note about the ER visit. I'm guessing i can try and set up a meeting with the dean of admissions or something, but i really dont know what to do. I haven't contacted the school yet.

What are my options? Any ideas? Anyone ever been through this or heard of someone who has?

I am a frequent reader, and have seen how great you guys can be. I appreciate any feedback. Just prey for me please.

I wouldn't worry that much about it. They can revoke it, but if they like you, then I doubt that they will. Your ER visit should be enough to show that you were really sick. Just talk to the Dean and see what happens.....

Yes, I agree. Talk to the medical school about the circumstances behind your problem, it might be useful to mail them a copy of your medical record proving that you were sick. Adcoms are people too, they should understand. But keep going on your interviews if you still have any just in case.

Your ER note should also be good enough to get a rewrite (or SOMETHING done about your grade) at your undergrad school. Why not do something about the problem at the root, and get rid of that D?

Canadagirl is right. Try to get the C first. It would be best not to open this can of worms, if you can avoid it.

If I was you I would try to get a drop-pass from the professor, seems to be the easiest way. Explain the situation and give him/her the note along with the story about med-school.

i did mean a grade below C, not a grade of C or below...

I can't really pass fail, at my school a D is also fail, so I think i'm gonna just contact the professor, setup a meeting and ask if I can do something, like another exam or a research paper.... anything to bring my grade up to a C- or higher. worst case, i'll contact my (future, hopefully) med school and explain the situation to them.

What were your other grades? If you got all A's and the one D, I don't think it would matter. If you got all C's and the D it might be a different story.

I am waiting for my teacher to get back to me, so i'm keeping my finegrs crossed.

I think with your other grades the med school would overlook the one D, as long as it doesn't affect your graduation.

Your other grades are solid, so you really don't have anything to worry about. No matter what happens with the professor, I WOULD contact your med school and explain about the one poor grade. You have proof of serious illness. CONTACT THE DEAN. I all but guarantee you he/she will tell you not to worry about it. They're NOT going to pull your acceptance because of one poor grade while sick. Have fun in med school and stay healthy!
