I was just wondering what the possibility is of someone with, oh, let's say a PhD in clinical or counseling psych deciding to pursue a career in I/O psych after they graduate?

The reason I ask is because I noticed a big company in a big city near my hometown advertising for recent PhD graduates in psychology to become "corporate psychologists" for their company - listing I/O, Counseling Psy, and Clinical psych, (all PhDs) as possible candidates.

So in short, is this a very rare thing or is it at least somewhat common that someone with a clinical/counseling psych PhD could pursue the I/O psychology route after graduating. Do your statistics, assesment, and research skills learned in the clin/couns degrees make one qualified for various I/O positions?

there are TONS of alternative career options.

the EPPP has a bunch of questions about I/O. i don't see why you could not supplement this studying with some apprpriate supervision and go straight into it.

one of my jobs is a non-clinical thing and it is much more lucrative than the clinical one.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of work?
