Medical communications is a burgeoning industry with a high market demand for highly-skilled and experienced individuals to fill medical science leadership positions in various arenas (e.g., private communications groups, pharmaceutical companies, ad agencies, etc.). This fast-paced, exciting alternative scientific career path for highly-qualified, highly-motivated individuals is looking for the next leaders of scientific content development and delivery.

Wiesen Medical Affairs is a small start-up with a foundation of years of medical writing experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The group is currently 7 people strong and looking for an MD, DO, and/or PhD with a background in the biomedical sciences for an entry-level, full-time position training towards careers in the medical communications industry.

Salary: $54K plus bonus.

Absolute Requirements
  • Serious, full-time applicants only
  • In-office (NOT remote) position – Marlton, NJ
    • Must be currently living within a 150-mile radius, as this is NOT a remote position and may require more than one in-person interview
  • MD, DO, and/or PhD only
    • US and Foreign Medical Graduates welcome
Description of Services:
  • Develop skills as a medical editor/writer and pharmaceutical/medical consultant
  • Assist in the development of scientific content (e.g., presentations, papers, and data)
  • Liaise with pharmaceutical and biotech clients (as experience evolves)
  • Write, review, proofread, format, revise, and copyedit documents (e.g., outlines, drafts, and slides)
  • Compose detailed outlines, drafts, and slides (as experience evolves)
  • Inclusion and revision of in-text citations
  • Develop reference lists
  • Annotate PDF references
  • Literature search and reference retrieval
  • Transcription of audio recordings
  • Fine-tuning layout of key data into defined templates
  • Copyediting and fact checking content provided by other scientific writers
  • Delivery of documents and references as per project
  • Interview global and national medical experts
  • Post-production of interviews with medical experts
  • Work independently on assignments
  • Limited travel required

Additional Qualifications Include:
  • Must be an MD, DO, and/or PhD with background in the biomedical sciences (molecular biology, genetics, oncology, immunology…)
  • 0-2 years of experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties
  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail and highly motivated/proactive
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
