holy crap! am i behind on filing out the FAFSA? I just got a letter saying I was supposed to have filled it out by March 1 to be considered for the HPSL, and the Indiana deadline is March 12-I just found out I got into school on the 14th! Does that mean I may not get enough money to go to school? s#$t!!!! 😱

I did...they are not picking up. I've been emailing and calling all morning and thought I'd try here to get a faster answer (if there is one)

no you aren't behind...schools are still accepting students, i doubt their financial aid deadlines are over.

most of the deadlines are for those who are accepted early... its just a way to make sure the majority get it done ASAP. You will be fine... I cant think of any bank the school uses that would not give you the school loan... remember.. the 200+K you take out is worth so many times more in interest for them.

Hi there,

Not to sound like a mom, but why didn't you fill out your FAFSA sooner????? It boggles my mind when folks neglect to do these kinds of things. I know that most people are anxiously waiting to hear back from their schools so their minds are not in the right place but you don't have to be accepted to send the school your FAFSA information. Sorry for the ranting but if anyone of you who are reading this and have not filled out your FAFSA, go do it NOW or you're going to be grounded for a month.

yes, i know-i'm a ***** when it comes to these things, but i honestly thought i needed the acceptance before starting the FAFSA. big mistake on my part i realize 😳 but i got the acceptance last week and am trying to get things together as quickly as possible. and yes i agree...do your FAFSA ASAP!!!!

the schools i interviewed at told us to fill out FAFSA in early January even if we weren't accepted anywhere. a lot of dental schools have priority deadlines because the subsidized loans are rather limited so the funds are first come first serve. don't worry, you will still get loans, but a lot of the subsidized packages might be spoken for.
