I have a question about AMCAS. For AP classes, would the academic status be freshman or high school?

1st term of freshman year.

see:

and i'm sure it's in the
Official AMCAS 2003 Questions Page

if you have a question, it's likely been asked before. the quickest way to get an answer is to try to do a search (if search is available). i often forget to do this myself.

Pocwana-
Thanks for responding! Are you sure about putting ap classes as freshman academic status? On the Texas application, they say to put it as pre-freshman. Also, if it is freshman, should we call it other term?

i don't know about the texas app, but the way i mentioned is for amcas.
i'm pretty sure of it.
if i hear any different, i'll be sure to post it on sdn.

I emailed AMCAS last week about AP courses and this is the response I received:

"AP courses should be listed under the first semester of the first granting institution...They should be listed as Freshman [Academic status]"

thanks for the official word, guitarguy! :)

hmmm, they haven't responded to an e-mail of mine from awhile ago.... argh

guitarguy-
so, if ap classes are assigned as freshman academic status, then what should the term be called? Is it 'other term'?

My school is on the semester system, so I placed my AP courses under the term "S1 1st Semester (Fall)". If you are under the quarter system, then place your AP credits with the courses you entered in the term "Q1 1st Quarter (Fall)".
