AMCAS-E Question

I'm in the process of filling out the AMCAS-E at the moment and had a question concerning how to list certain courses.
What course type would I use to describe courses that I got credit for via a departmental exam? I received both credit AND a grade on my transcript for 5 french courses after taking an exam to "test-out" of the courses. At first I thought I would use the "Exempt" type, but it specifically says "Do NOT assign the Type EX to courses which have been awarded credit". Would I specify it as a CLEP course? A normal course? I'd appreciate some input from those who've been through this.

I had a similar problem, and I'd say your best bet is to call AMCAS and ask them. This is the safest way to go!
