So last year I applied and was waitlisted at one school.....and didn't get in. I'm starting to work on my AMCAS application now and am retaking the MCAT on September 8th. Here's my question: is it ok to discuss your reapplicant status on your AMCAS primary essay? All of my reasons for applying are the same, and strengthened by the fact that I DIDN'T get in, and I'm trying again. And that I'm committed to this. I feel like my last essay was really about as perfect as its going to get, but now I don't know what to write about!! Help!

Take a look at the link in my signature - there's a bunch of essay/personal statement advice there.

I think it is fine. Just highlight how after a year off, your desire to enter med school is better than ever and getting real world experience this past year has solidified that for you. Good Luck!!!
