My AMCAS application was recently verified and I saw on the final PDF version that some of my classes have an AMCAS grade of "G", including some physics and chemistry courses I did well in. I read on their website this means it wasn't calculated into my AMCAS GPA, but why would they not include these courses?

Looks like the "G" grade is used for AP credits. Is there a chance that you accidentally clicked a box identifying these classes as AP classes, or that something on your transcript may have given that impression? Either way, I'd definitely get in touch with AMCAS and inform them that these were college classes and not AP credits (assuming that this is the case).

Just checked my app and like what Terry said, I only have a "G" for my AP credits. Probably should contact them ASAP

I called AMCAS about the same thing. It was listed for my AP credit. They said it is a placeholder in their system and doesn't factor into the AMCAS GPA.

Only for your AP credit? It's listed as that for my AP credit, but also for a few of my other classes that I've taken during college. I have only taken classes at my four year university, too. So none of them are from CC's or anything either

It was a class from college that had me test out, but AMCAS counts that under AP. I would just call, they were super helpful and explained it to me. Probably not too big a deal, but for me I had to call so I would know and not freak out about it.

Yeah I'll definitely give them a call - thanks for the advice!

For anyone who runs into a similar issue, I called the AAMC and they had me submit an "Academic Change Request" accessible within your AMCAS portal. They said it should not be an issue and it should only take a few business days to correct.
