AMCAS physician shadowing hours mistake

My AMCAS states the following: I have other MD shadowing but there was no mistake for those. But for these:

Dr. X, D.O., Anesthesiology - 10 hours 02/2016- 05/2016 - 15 hours, [email protected];

Dr. X, D.O., Orthopedics - 30 hours 06/2016-08/2016 - 40 hours, [email protected];

I was going to apply last year but I did not and I was updating the hours and I forgot to erase the previous hours 10 hours and 30 hours respectively.

Is this bad?

Except for the fact that the person reading your app might be slightly confused; No it's not bad.

If it comes up at your interviews, just say "I was going to apply last year but I did not and I was updating the hours and I forgot to erase the previous hours 10 hours and 30 hours respectively" and then move on.

so no big deal? I shouldn't clarify in my secondaries for the essay "is there anything else you want us to know"

If I read that as part of an application, the only reason it would stand out is that someone still uses a hotmail account. I say move on.

What number did you put in the Total Hours box of the space's header? What was the total for the other shadowing that you didn't mention here? What I'm getting at is whether the Total Hours in the header is correct.

One way one might interpret your entry is that the first number is related to the mentioned date span and that the second number randomly took place later or is a future projection. As long as your Total Hours are correct, I see no reason to mention anything in Secondaries or updates. No one would quibble about a 15 hour error.
