I submitted mine on July 6th but it has been in line to be verified since then. I don't get what's taking them so long to verify it... anyone else had a similar problem? I tried calling them but I couldn't reach anybody after waiting for 20 mins.

It hasn't even been 2 weeks for you. You have to realize that this is a busy time since everybody and their mother is sending in their app now, and besides their disclaimer says it may take up to 6 weeks, doesn't it?

Your wait has not been long at all. From what I understand the average verification time now is 3 weeks. I submitted June 30 and don't expect my verification until at least the end of this week.

OK just wondering because last year it took me a week to get verified and it was in August (I assumed there would be more traffic in August than in July).

I would guess less traffic in August because most of the April MCAT'ers would have already submitted and the August one's would be busy studying for the exam. Maybe I'm wrong.

You should look at the lists on the thread "April MCAT'ers Submit AMCAS yet?"...there is a HUGE list there... :)

This is traffic jam period isn't it? I think 2 week isn't that long.

Do they only start to verify it after you submit it?

(i.e. I did not submit yet but my transcript is there already)

honestly i think the process is pretty random. some people will get verified fairly quickly even amidst the pile of apps. some people it will take the full 6 weeks. For the most part, , however, it seems that for everyone, it will take 3 weeks. Im just glad they acknowledged receipt of my transcript. one question i have though, is if they start to put it into verification the date that they acknowledge receipt of teh transcript (mine said it was received on 7/3) but i was notified some 2 weeks later, or is it put into the system ready to be reviewed after they notify you?

They won't look at anything until after you submit. The whole point of verification is to match up what you submitted with your actual transcripts.

    I'm glad I submitted June 5th (verified June 7th :D ).

wasn't there a mishap like this last year where those who took the august mcat weren't at a huge disadvantage?
