AMSA Conference? What's it like?

Has anyone been? Today's the last day for the earlybird registration thing... so I have to haul ass if I want to do it. What have people's experiences been like?

I went to an AMSA conference once and decided I wouldn't ever do it again. I never realized AMSA was so political. At the conference, they bused people to the steps of city hall and gave them signs and yelled at people... Not what I was expecting at all.

But if thats what you're looking for, and you agree with AMSA's political ideas, then go for it. I'm just more low key than that
