anal suit question

ladies---did any of you get a jacket with just one button?

what do you do when you sit down? unbutton it?

Don't unbutton it unless the button is below waist level (so that to leave it buttoned will cause the jacket to bunch up on your lap when sitting). If you do have to unbutton it, that means you may want to pay more attention to how your shirt is tucked in, and wear a belt.

If the suit hangs well and is cut conservatively, it doesn't matter how many buttons it has. Sit down in it. If it looks dorky buttoned, unbutton it. Otherwise leave it alone. You should have a nice blouse under it anyway. If you want to be anal, press the skirt in the morning.

I'm an older premed and have been a manager for a few years. I have NEVER noticed whether the candidates I have interviewed for jobs have unbuttoned their jackets. If it's a nice suit, and it fits, that's all that counts.

I too have been "in the world" on the interviewer side of the desk - and I don't really notice button-unbutton on jacket, or pants vs skirt suit or black vs. other color -- (except hunter green) - but I do notice shoes for some reason.

Shine your shoes! Scuffed or dull shoes just say you don't really care.
