trying to understand acute on chronic anemia, but I keep getting confused. Can someone give me an overview or a good online source .

sounds like homework

there's no such things as "acute anemia" - it's called "bleeding". Start there.

...also, OP, hemolysis for whatever reason can cause "acute anemia" too...
