Anesth. - Pain Mngmt

In general, how difficult is it to get into pain management following an anesthesia program?
And, as a DO, is it more difficult. I'm told and have sent that a lot of DO's go into Anesthesia.

Pain mgmt is the most popular fellowship following anesthesia. Your chances probably depend upon where you do your residency, how strong a resident you are, and how flexible you are with the location of the fellowship. I'm not sure whether being a DO would hurt you or not. Probably depends on the program. The pain fellow at our program currently is a DO.
