- Resident [Any Field]
Hello,
I was told by my advisor that due to COVID it is not necessary to have a LOR from an anesthesiologist and that a LOR from any physician should work. When I look at school websites they indicate that they require a LOR from an anesthesiologist. Per the American Society of Anesthesiologists they state: Secondly, we suggest Anesthesiology residency programs to remove any firm requirements for LORs specifically from anesthesiologists. Strong LORs reflecting an applicant’s character, scholarship, and work ethic can be created by a physician from any field who has worked closely with the applicant.
What do you guys think of this. I would like to apply anesthesia but my rotation was cancelled due to COVID. Do you think programs will be flexible? or will it be difficult for me.
Thanks
