I'm a 4th year at a DO school currently in the res app proccess. Up until this month, I was deciding between Surgery and IM (with the goal of Cards or Pulm/CC), but I'm doing anesthesia this month realized that I actually like it...alot...so I'm considering applying now.

If I get above average on both, do I even have a shot at anesthesia now (either allo or osteo)? What if I do a transitional year and apply for a CA-1 spot next year?

Allo no. Osteo maybe, you'd have to find a program that really liked you and it would be all about your rotation there.

TY then CA-1 or Advanced I can't comment on. Coincidently I posted a very similar question a couple days ago in the gas forum.
