destroyer bio 178 - asks how many chromosomes/chromatids an egg cell will contain. being really anal retentive here, technically an egg is an egg after the sperm enters the 2ndary oocyte, so it would have both parents' chromosomes (they say 23/23)... would the real DAT be this picky?

egg + sperm = zygote.
I think you are referring to zygote here which is not egg.

zygote is fertilized and an egg is haploid just like sperm so it will consist of 23 chromosomes/23 chromatids each chromosome counts as a chromatid because it is haploid even a zygote wouldn't have 46 until it goes thru much differentiation and divisions hope that helps
