Hey everyone,
I'm hoping to get some insight into what is known about why certain schools are Canadian friendly or not - are the posts found throughout SDN mostly based on stats of Canadians accepted? I've come up with a list of OOS friendly schools I meet criteria for, and divided that into what I've found across the internet and on here for which ones are apparently Canadian friendly. Here are my stats, and schools I'm interested in:
oGPA: 3.52
sGPA: 3.43
bcpGPA: 3.71
I completed 3 years of a fine arts degree prior to completing a BSc in Pharmacy. Loads of volunteer hours and heavy participation in the faculty of pharmacy..awards for being most involved etc.
DAT:
PAT: 23

BIO: 28

OC: 22

AA: 24
Schools: (OOS and Canadian friendly)
UoP
BU
USC
Midwestern (AZ)
Nova
Penn
Buffalo
Pittsburgh
NYU
Minnesota
Michigan
Maryland
Tufts
OOS friendly:
Las Vegas
Creighton
Marquette
Louisville
Virginia
Kentucky
Calif - SF
I guess my main questions are:
1. As a Canadian, with my stats, how many schools should I be applying to?
2. I've confirmed via current websites/emails that the above schools all would accept a Canadian with a Canadian degree - is it worth applying to any of them given that they don't seem to make the 'Canadian friendly' lists?
I guess I should also mention that I am a nontrad application - I have been a pharmacist for 3 years, so a couple of my prereqs are pushing 10 yrs ago now. I ran into only a couple admission criteria that even mentioned this, but is it something I should be concerned about?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments!
