Here I sit, trying not to go insane with the AWFUL waiting... dreaming up new things to worry about. PLEASE!! Someone reassure me! I'm currenly siitng on four schools I interviewed at in Febuary, hope to get into at least one of them in the coming days. My problem is this- when I sent in my AMCAS in August, I indicated the major I thought I would be getting when I graduate at the end of this year. Afterwards, I realized that for various reasons, I would be missing a couple half-courses I needed to graduate with that major, and so I switched into a combined double-minor (my school lets us graduate with 1 major OR two minors). PROB- I didn't formally inform the med schools I applied to for next year of the switcheroo. I honestly didn't think it was such a big deal- I just started to think about it recently, cuz I like worrying about minor details like this- but at this stage in the game, I don't want to ask the med schools this question straight-out (not until I hear their replies from my interviews)... I have this worst-case scenario nightmare in my mind where the schools will retract their letters of acceptance (if I actually ever get any) because I technically have no major and didn't tell them about it until now. HELP! I sure hope this doesn't happen!! My stats are really good, by the way. My undergrad school also has a really good reputation- so I figured if it's good enough for them to graduate me with this combined minor, it will be good enough for any adcom- I only recently clued into the fact that this is something I should have forwarded on to the med schools earlier... HELP!!!

You don't have enough to worry about?

If a medical school accepts you, if you have met admission requirements, and if you get your degree, they are hardly likely to quibble about having two minors instead of a major. Having a major is not a requirement for admission to medical school. It is usually a requirement for earning a BA/BS degree.

If you feel you want to tell them about the change--without going into excruciating detail--do so.
